Transition made easy!
Challenge:
The project involved a significant transformation of a complex mobility operation for a BFSI customer, encompassing various types of transportation services across two cities, serving a large user base with a substantial fleet and multiple partners. The transition period was initially expected to span 30 months. Additionally, there was a specific concern related to the old fleet in Mumbai, which required either replacement or upgrade due to reliability issues.
Solutions:
The detailed transition plan included a comprehensive operations study, risk assessment, identification of milestones, and success criteria. It also involved a phased approach for the transition of functions and cities, along with a comprehensive fleet assessment and a program for fleet upgrade or replacement. Furthermore, process standardization and the establishment of a governance and engagement model were crucial from a review and sustainability standpoint. This approach demonstrates a thorough and well-structured strategy for the successful transition of the mobility operation.
Results:
It’s quite impressive that the entire transition, which was initially expected to take 30 months, was successfully completed in just 7 months. The effort helped in achieving efficiencies, transparency, process standardization, accountability, governance, and in providing uninterrupted and best-in-class services in line with the agreed service levels. Additionally, the development and implementation of a robust, sustainable, and scalable plan for ramping up demand without affecting operations is truly commendable. This success showcases effective and efficient management of the transition process.
